CWExpert supports RTTY modes from 45 to 300 bauds. Mode selection can be done from main menu or with right mouse click on Monitor window. All changes are “on the fly” without need to restart audio streams. VFOA and VFOB are independent in mode selection and can be combined with others modes (PSK and CW).
To change VFOA op mode or filter width tuning mode must be VFOA (yellow vertical bar on Panadapter screen) or OFF.
To change VFOB op mode first enable RX2 and then enter VFOB tuning mode (double right mouse click until red vertical bar appears). Now you can change op mode or filter width.
Tuning can be done by mouse wheel when mouse cursor is placed on:
- Panadapter screen in 10Hz steps;
- Panadapter screen + keyboard CTRL in 50Hz;
- placing mouse pointer over VFOA or VFOB labels (color is changed to yellow) in 100Hz steps;
- Monitor screen in 1Hz steps for fine tuning;
Local oscillator can be changed in 5KHz step by placing mouse pointer over LOSC label (change color from white to yellow color) or with CTRL key from keyboard in 10KHz steps.
Monitor window give additional information about CH1 and CH2 state:
Mark and Space are indication of detected signal state, Norm or Rev are short of normal and reversed modes. Sqelch button is turn on/off squelch function (no gibberish detected characters on screen).
Note:if you click on Mark label it is possible to detect RTTY using only Mark signal (squelch is turned on automatically).
Split mode allow transmitting on VFOB frequency. VFOA and VFOB modes are independent!
If you wish to change channel coming trough speakers press button 2:
Note: demodulated RTTY audio signals are very different from original because CWExpert uses two 50Hz narrow receivers for signal detection.
From Setup->Modem->RTTY you can change various settings.
