G59 is a 160m-6m Software Defined Radio transceiver - the 'heart and brain'
of Genesis Fifty-Nine project.
Key specifications:
Receiver: adjustable synthesizer with 1Hz step, IIP3 32-35dBm,
MDS: -116 to -122dBm (RF preamplifier ON: -132 to -134dBm.).
RX Sensitivity is 0.15-0.2uV for 10 dB S/N ratio and max S/N measured ratio is 70dB.
Image rejection is from -35dBc to -50dBc (hardware) or -60dBc (hardware + software)
SFDR (Spurious free dynamic range) is 93-100dB or over 100dB for G59C.
Receiver 1dB compression point is + 10dBm.
Second RX antenna input.
Transmitter: adjustable power output from 0-10W (with GPA10).
Carrier suppression is from 45-60dBc (hardware).
TX Image Rejection is from -35dBc to -50dBc (hardware) or better than
60dB or more with GSDR software.
G59 has built-in microphone preamplifier, IAMBIC keyer with CW monitor.
Status: first BETA run. The PCB is ready and in stock.
Custom made components:
all RF chokes and 80% of capacitors are in stock, with the remaining due on Dec 20.
Standard components: 70% in stock, remaining due by Dec 20th.
Beta testers will receive their G59 PCBs, GBOX and all key-components by December 10.
If the beta test passes without much trouble, then the first test run of 45 units will be available
to selected builders within 4-6 weeks. Development priority: very high!
G59D is an extended band coverage version of G59. It covers a
4m (70Mhz) band. G59D utilize Si570xxxx.
Release date: unknown, most likely March-April.
GPA10 is 10W SDR amplifier. It is the muscle unit for your G59.
The GPA10 PCB is due for completion on December 20.
Although primarily designed to pair with G59, GPA10 is a stand-alone
unit which can be used with other SDR low power transceivers.
95% of the components are already in stock, including all custom-made
capacitors. Project priority: HIGH. We expect to have this unit available in January.
GAT10 is an automatic antenna tuner for 160-6m, intended to accompany
G59 and GPA10.
Project status: draft. Priority: low.
GT200 is 2m transverter board for G59 with incorporates 5W PA.
Project status: working prototype. The GT200 will become
high priority as soon as G59 passes beta testing.
PCB: under development. Components: 50% in stock.
Estimated release: March-April.
GT70 is a 70cm transverter. Under development.
GBOX is an enclosure project. It is designed to
house either G59+GPA10+GAT10 or G59+GT200+GT70.
Currently we have a small quantity of the first prototype in stock.
Priority: HIGH. GBOX is a 'continuous work in progress'.

Genesis G 'Fifty-Nine' Photos
Here is a photo of G59 PCB, next to the G3020.
220 x 185 mm.
The upcoming GPA10 PCB is slightly smaller than G3020.

Components content for G59+GPA10 includes approximately 750 through-holes and 30 SMD components.
Fifty-nine is an advanced kit which will require around 100+ hours of assembly.
Excellent soldering skills, utmost attention to details and previous SDR kit-building experience
are essential!

G59 receiver utilizes the lowest noise/distortion OP AMP available on the market!
The price of this op amplifier is 30 times the price of NE5532. The G59 has four
of them in the RX section!

Embedded control monitoring and communication with GSDR software

GBOX -An inside view - proposed layout of G59 and GPA10 PCBs.

GBOX is an Aluminium die-casting enclosure with dimensions 240 x 240 x 90mm.
There is plenty of room for an antenna tuner or a second transverter.

PRICE
The minimum configuration on offer is G59+GPA10+GBOX or
G59+GT200+GBOX. Since the project is not completed, a firm price
is still unknown, however our target price for either combination
is US$ 449.
GPA10 kit will be available as a separate unit (approximately US$ 119).
